Irrigation performance begins before water reaches a sprinkler. The source, refill rate, useful storage, pump duty, controls, filtration, pipework and field demand all need to work together.
JK Irrigation designs, installs and upgrades water systems for golf courses, sports turf and complex sites. We assess each pump, tank and control arrangement in the context of the complete water path rather than as an isolated product.

Start with the real duty
Equipment selection starts with the available water, required flow and pressure, lift, route length, levels, pipe sizes, power and operating pattern. Access, filtration, solids risk, redundancy and future demand also affect the design.
A system can show pressure while still being unable to supply the required flow. Restrictions, undersized pipework, closed valves or increased demand may be the real problem, so fitting a larger pump is not automatically the answer.

Break tanks and difficult water routes
A break tank can separate parts of a water system, provide a controlled suction supply and help manage long routes, elevation or several incoming sources. The tank, level controls and pump arrangement must be designed around the actual site.
- Redbourn Golf Club: a break tank was installed following an identified limitation in the existing long supply route
- Redlibbets Golf Club: lake, borehole-fill and storage supplies were brought together at a break tank before gravity feeding the new irrigation pump set
- Dartford Golf Club: two tanks, a supporting base and lifting logistics were coordinated around restricted access
- Shooters Hill Golf Club: a long-standing arrangement was replaced by a two-pump Lowara system with Hydrovar variable-speed control

Reservoir, borehole and solar transfer
Transfer work may require separate pumping and controls from the irrigation pressure system. Source protection, float control, storage levels and the relationship between transfer demand and irrigation demand must be defined before installation.
At Abridge Golf Club, the recorded works included river transfer, reservoir controls, float-control changes and separate stormwater and ditch-pump work.

- West Herts Golf Club: renewal of the pump, steel rising main and controls serving an existing borehole, including a custom control panel. The record does not imply that JK Irrigation drilled the borehole
- Mill Green Golf Club: a JK Irrigation designed and installed solar-powered system transferring water between lakes
- Billingbear Park: a separate solar-powered lake-transfer arrangement with a custom frame for panels on the pump-house roof

Controls, water bodies and existing systems
JK Irrigation's in-house electrical capability allows pumps, panels, level controls and their connection to the irrigation network to be considered within the same delivery structure. Existing equipment can be investigated and retained where appropriate, with immediate faults separated from later improvement work.
Recorded work also includes controlled fountains, lake investigation, aeration and algae-treatment activity. These are different interventions and are considered against the purpose of the water body, the identified issue and the site's electrical, hydraulic and environmental constraints.

Independently reported project evidence
At Bedford School, JK Irrigation was the designer and installer for a sports-turf system that included two 25,000-litre tanks, a Lowara pump system and approximately 2,000 metres of pipework. The project was independently reported by Turf Matters.
