Hunter I-40 Standard Nozzle Metric Chart

Hunter I-40 standard nozzle performance in metric units

This page presents the metric standard-nozzle data published in Hunter's dated I-40 performance card. It is a practical identification and planning reference for golf and sports turf teams.

Confirm the installed rotor, nozzle and dynamic pressure before using the table. High-speed and dual-opposing-nozzle configurations have different performance data and are deliberately not mixed into this reference.

Reference scope

  • Rotor family: Hunter I-40
  • Configuration: standard single-nozzle performance
  • Nozzles: 08, 10, 13, 15, 23 and 25
  • Units: bar, metres, cubic metres per hour and litres per minute
  • Manufacturer source: Hunter LIT-470, revision 4/22

Hunter describes the distance as radius. On site, this is the sprinkler throw in metres. Flow is shown in m³/h first, with l/min retained as a secondary check.

This table uses the clearly dated performance-card dataset as one controlled reference. Later live-only rows are not blended into it.

How to use the table

Pressure means pressure at the sprinkler while the intended irrigation group is operating. Pump-station pressure does not establish what reaches the rotor after elevation change, pipe loss, valves and fittings.

  • Identify the installed nozzle and confirm that the rotor uses the standard single-nozzle configuration.
  • Establish dynamic pressure at the field equipment, not only at the pump station.
  • Check the combined flow of the operating group against pump duty, storage and pipe capacity.
  • Assess radius in the context of spacing, wind, elevation and adjacent sprinklers.
  • Investigate nozzle wear, regulation, leakage or blockage where field performance differs materially.

Important limitations

Published performance figures are selection data, not a guarantee of field coverage. Actual results vary with installation height, wind, elevation, spacing, nozzle condition, pressure regulation and the available hydraulic capacity.

The table does not replace a hydraulic assessment or confirmation of the installed configuration. Manufacturer data and available combinations can change, so use the linked Hunter document as the controlling source.
