Hampton Court Palace Golf Club Break Tank and Mains Backup

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club · irrigation water storage

22,000 litres of new storage and a route for mains top-up

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club needed more usable water for its irrigation system and a backup to its borehole supply. JK Irrigation installed a 22,000 litre Enduramaxx non-potable vertical tank alongside the existing water infrastructure, creating additional storage capacity for the course. The project also included a mains water top-up arrangement for times when borehole supply is interrupted.

The brief

The course already had water storage, but required greater usable volume and a second way to replenish it. The solution had to work with the existing irrigation water infrastructure and give the greenkeeping team more flexibility when demand rises or the borehole is unavailable.

Additional storage

One 22,000 litre vertical tank added to the existing arrangement.

Borehole resilience

A mains top-up route provides an alternative source if the borehole supply is interrupted.

Tank specification and installation

The tank is an Enduramaxx 22,000 litre black, non-potable vertical model (product code 17215001), approximately 3,450 mm in diameter and 2,800 mm high. Its scale made delivery, offloading and positioning a substantial part of the installation. JK Irrigation worked around the site's existing storage and water supply to bring the added capacity into the irrigation arrangement.

For the same tank model and size, see the 22,000 litre Enduramaxx vertical tank at UK Flow Centre. The linked tank is the same capacity and product code used on this project.

A more resilient water supply

The extra 22,000 litres give the course a larger stored reserve. The mains top-up is intended as a backup when the borehole cannot keep the storage replenished, helping the team manage a supply interruption. The tank itself is specified for non-potable irrigation water; the design of a mains connection and any required backflow protection is a separate consideration.
